I believe my duty as a journalist is to give a voice to the voiceless and share lasting stories about the human experience that create impact.
Reporting in Washington D.C.
During my junior year, I was chosen alongside two other students to spend my Spring semester reporting political news on Capitol Hill.
I covered many topics, including abortion rights, the State of the Union Address, border bills, foreign affairs and more. I am so grateful for Gaylord News providing me with the opportunity to get first-hand experience reporting. During my internship, I was able to grow my multimedia skills, writing, reporting, research and interviewing.
Gaylord News is a news bureau based at the University of Oklahoma. We report important issues on both a national and local level for Oklahomans. Papers such as the OK Tribune, The El Reno Tribune and other OK papers have republished my stories.
