Digital

Marketing

Not only do I have experience running my magazines social media platforms, but I also curate the content and do the copy-writing, editing and posting. Outside of my magazine, I also helped run Gaylord College’s social platforms in my practicum class, as well as serving as the PR Assistant for my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. For my digital marketing minor, I have learned a lot about digital strategy and have been certified in HootSuite and Hubspot.

Social Media

Web-Design

During My sophomore year,  my professor, Katy Koontz, encouraged me to take her web-training course for Adobe CMS programs. I agreed, and have since fallen in love with website management. I am now certified in Solo-learn CSS and understand HTML, JavaScript and CSS coding. For my position as a communications assistant, I helped manage Gaylord College’s website alongside building the site for my magazine.  I am also familiar with WordPress and Squarespace.

Marketing

For my digital marketing minor, I have learned a lot about the importance of research and strategy. For some of my class projects I have: started and marketed my own podcast and developed a digital marketing strategy. Outside of my work for my classes, I assisted with Gaylord’s marketing for my practicum class. During my internship with the Kaiser Family Foundation, I worked with the staff at Guthrie Green to learn about the importance of brand-identity and strategy. For my magazine, I work alongside my marketing team to develop a strategy to gain outreach across all platforms while sticking to our brand identity.

Advertising

I was able to join Gaylord College’s 2024 Advertising trip to New York City. As a journalist and social media strategist, copy-writing is a skill I have picked up over time. Wanting to learn more, I joined the trip and visited Ad agencies in NYC. I am very grateful for this opportunity and am continuing to learn more about advertising and copy-writing.
