I Started my own Fashion Magazine

I started The Campus Edit during my junior year of college alongside one of my peers after discussing the lack of opportunity for entertainment news on campus. We both craved a creative outlet that let us exercise our skills and diversify our pallets.

After months of preparation, Lk and I launched the first issue of our fashion publication with great success. Over a year later and we now manage a team of 25 and overlook three pillars– communications, editorial and photography.

The Campus Edit has successfully published eleven issues and covered two local fashion shows, New York Fashion Week 2024 and other fashion news.

Behind the Scenes of TCE

  • EDITORIAL

Our Editorial team consists of a team of staff writers, who prepare articles for each issue. I edit their stories and work them into the magazine. I also add each story into our website.

The team has monthly pitch meetings, and we work with our team to find stories that correlate with our issues theme.

  • COMMUNICATIONS

Our Communications team is split into four sub-categories: Marketing, PR, Advertising and Design.

The main goal for the Comms team is to increase outreach and awareness of the magazine, collaborate with business, find advertising for each issue and research trends.

I work with the Comms team to produce regular and trending content for our Social Media, Website, Newsletter and Magazine.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY

As the lead photographer, I lead a team of three to promote content for the magazine and all of our social media platforms.

We work with studio equipment to produce high-quality content for the brand. We stretch our creativity while sticking to The Campus Edit’s branding.

We have also covered fashion shows, events
